Hudson -- The library received a clean audit from the state auditor's office for 2008 and 2009.

Independent accounting firm Knox & Knox of Orrville found no deficiencies, no weaknesses and no instances of noncompliance in the Hudson Library and Historical Society's financial reporting for the period from Jan. 1, 2008, to Dec. 31, 2009. The state auditor's office reviewed and accepted the report on Oct. 27 and released it Nov. 9.

"It's great news, and we are really pleased with it," said Hudson Library Fiscal Officer Dee Aiken. "We are very lucky to be entrusted with public funds and we try to be very diligent about spending it correctly."

The library had total net assets of $2.356 million in 2009, and $2.05 million in 2008, according to the report.
